LIFE PAINTING

A fabulous Saturday last month spent having random discussions and oil painting the beautiful model that is @starofthesea.art with @neilmoorepainter and @julieswinsco. One that I spent 2 hrs painting in colour got wiped as soon as I got home…. (Can’t win them all!) I have a photo of the blue one below so might add some warm colours to the light sections this week if I get time.

Her feet were so perfectly together and symmetrical…..like one of those butterfly prints you do when you’re kid - where you fold some paper, splodge paint on one half, then press them together and open to reveal the butterfly. My mind goes off in some obscure directions sometimes!

I also like how you see the curvy arms and legs of the chair mimicked in the pose.

You can still see some of the construction lines…there was an easy vertical reference line I could use to start with that went up from the ankles, between the knees, to the right ear (as we see it). That then helped me to get the head in the right position relative to the lower legs.
