The projects covered will cover the first steps and essentials needed to build a broad understanding of: Drawing, Painting, Materials & colour theory.
You will be introduced to a wide selection of art materials, including pencil, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, pastels, watercolour & acrylics.We will study: Basic drawing techniques, Basic Painting Techniques, Mark making, Tone, Composition, Colour Theory & Perspective.
Our projects will be based on: Still Life, Botanicals, Landscapes & Figurative subject matter.
We will cover the above: over 12 weeks (2 x 6 week blocks of classes)
The course is full of hints and tips to bring out your inner artist, with lots of demonstrations and one to one tuition, aimed at building your confidence and improving your skills.
If you’re looking for a supportive, relaxed, friendly and fun atmosphere to learn to draw and paint then we’d love to see you in our art group. The class size is small (max 8 students).
For each lesson, your workspace will be set-up for your arrival, with all materials (apart from paper) provided and set up ready for you to use.
Our intention is that when you feel ready, you can attend some of the Saturday Painting Workshops, then use the following weeks in class to practise and develop what you have learned. In this way, workshops and weekly sessions work together to help you build skills and confidence over time.
Lucy has been teaching since 2020 in art schools and art spaces around the country. Critique is individually focused with no ‘right’, ‘wrong’ or ‘expected’ outcome, but rather a goal of individual development and original expression.
