Exploring the possibilities in shape, colour and tone each student will create a unique abstract floral design. Focusing on composition, tone and colour harmony & brushwork.

In these paintings what may look ‘loose and carefree’ takes planning and preparation in advance of committing our paint to the canvas.  I’ll give you lots of design ideas to consider and we’ll practice being bold and confident with our brushmarks as we create our abstract floral designs.

Materials provided: Floral images, Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylic Glazing Medium, expert tuition, detailed demonstrations, and one-to-one guidance.

What to bring:

• A canvas or board A3 size (or 16” x 16” square)

• 3 pieces A3 Multimedia paper

• A selection brushes to include a 15-20mm flat

• A good selection of artist quality acrylic paints eg.Daler Rowney/ Winsor Newton

• A small bottle of white gesso

• Palette knife – eg. Winsor and Newton size 22

• A ‘stay-wet’ palette (or tray lined with paper towel and baking parchment)

• A paper palette

• A hairdryer

• A water spray

• A pencil

• A blob of bluetack

• Scissors
