Level: All levels welcome.
In this workshop, we’ll explore a range of compositional ideas and guidelines, arranging and lighting our still life setups using coloured backgrounds, reflective surfaces, and transparent elements. We’ll focus on creating interesting and unusual compositions, paying attention to shadow shapes and colour relationships. After sketching out our compositions on canvas, we’ll move on to painting—focusing on dynamic colour mixing, expressive brushwork, and effective techniques for painting shadows.
