Level: All levels welcome.

This class is designed to help students learn the basic principles of Colour Mixing, Composition and Brushwork. Aimed at those that would like to find ways to loosen up their style and paint more freely.

We will go ‘step by step’ through exercises to help us prepare our colours and surface ready for painting a Floral Still Life.

We will look at arranging and lighting a jar of seasonal flowers with different coloured backgrounds, creating interesting and unusual compositions and colour relationships.  We will then sketch out our composition on the canvas, before applying the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour, brushwork and composition.

Materials provided: All materials (brushes, paints, mediums, canvas etc) will be supplied.

Light refreshments will be served morning and afternoon.

• A box to take your work home in

• A phone or IPAD for taking photos

• Everything else will be supplied, should you wish to use any of your own equipment please bring it along.
