Abstract Sunflowers

  • The Oxford Academy Sandy Lane West, Littlemore Oxford, England, OX4 6JZ United Kingdom (map)

Level: All levels welcome.

This workshop involves drawing, cutting, collaging, editing, and painting to create an abstract sunflower design, with a focus on colour, composition, shape, and tone.

We will begin with careful observation and a loose drawing of some real sunflowers. Next, we will create a collage using ‘Notan’ theory with tonal papers. Finally, we will apply a colour scheme to our ‘Notan’ designs and use it to inform an abstract painting on canvas.

I will be there to guide you every step of the way. With each piece you create, you will be encouraged to discover your own unique style.
