ARTFORMS
I’ve had an amazing week that has included 3 evenings of dancing, 2 days teaching painting, 1 evening watching live music and a day sculpting clay!
On Tuesday I spent the day with ‘Chipping Campden Art Society’- giving a talk and demo in the morning followed by a painting workshop for members in the afternoon. They meet once a month in ‘The Old Courthouse’ - A beautiful room with a vaulted ceiling from which this old waymarker hangs…it was made in 1669 and has only recently been bought inside for safe keeping.

Thursday evening: I really wanted to see the double bass in action - but it was the pianist/vocalist/violinist that stole the show- think Jools Holland on Speed! ‘Temperance’ is Leamington’s best kept secret - an intimate live music venue seating only about 55 people. The musicians are always incredible and if you can’t get tickets you can always watch and listen via a live stream in the other rooms of the bar.
On Wednesday I bought up all the lemons in our local Tesco metro ready for a ‘Still Life’ painting class at the beautiful ‘Micklems Farm Creative Workshops’ on Friday. I got some very odd looks at the checkout! More on that in a seperate post…
Saturday I was back at Micklem’s Farm only this time as a student - learning to make caramic cats using a ‘slab building’ method, with the talented ‘Alison Pink Creatures’.
It looks pretty strange in some of these pictures - but the final results are amazing - finished pieces from the class below. Alison will take them away for firing now and they will be magically transformed - so I’ll post the final result when I have it :)
