Winter Term: Beginners art classes run from my home studio in Leamington Spa on Monday afternoons starting in January - there are currently 3 spaces available.
Also on Wednesday mornings and afternoon at ‘Micklem’s Farm Creative Workshops’ in Berkshire, starting in January. Please follow the link above to book.
This course is fully guided with plenty of demonstrations, one-to-one tuition, and expert hints and tips to bring out your inner artist, helping you build your skills and confidence over time. You will be introduced to a wide selection of art materials, including pencils, coloured pencils, charcoal, ink pens, soft pastels, oil pastels, collage, watercolours, and acrylic paints.
It runs from January to March, with a break for half term week commencing 15th February. Our projects will be based on still life, botanicals, landscapes, and figurative subject matter. These projects are enormously varied, covering the first steps and essentials needed to build a broad understanding of drawing, painting, materials, mark-making, tone, composition, colour theory, and perspective. All materials are provided ready for you to use.
If you are looking for a supportive, relaxed, friendly, and fun atmosphere to learn how to draw and paint, we would love to welcome you to our art group. Lucy will give a short presentation at the beginning of each class to talk you through the stages of work for the day, with demonstrations where appropriate. She will also provide step-by-step notes for you to take away, leaving you with plenty of time to work through the stages at your own pace.
Projects generally run over two weeks, allowing you ample time to practice and develop finished pieces.
Critique is individually focused with no right, wrong, or expected outcome, but rather a goal of personal development and original expression.
We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you on your artistic journey.
Please note that each term features different seasonal projects, so there are no repeats from previous terms.
